IBS - Irritable Bowel SyndromeDiscover What Nearly Millions of Sufferers Have in Common With YOU!
Irritable
bowel syndrome or ibs is a problem that affects or interferes with the
normal functions of the large intestine. (colon). IBS - irritable bowel
syndrome causes several symptoms such as crampy abdominal pain, bloating,
constipation and diarrhea. Irritable
bowel syndrome is a syndrome because it causes several symptoms as
mentioned above. With
irritable bowel syndrome, the nerves and the muscles in the bowel are
extra sensitive. An example of one of the symptoms is the muscles
contracting too much when you eat. These contractions can cause cramping
and diarrhea shortly after or even during a meal. Irritable
bowel syndrome or IBS can be painful, but it does not damage the bowel or
cause diseases. Other symptoms are mucus in the stool and a swollen or
bloated abdomen. Irritable
bowel syndrome (IBS) is diagnosed by physical examination, blood test and
X-ray of the bowel. There is also an Endoscopy (where a thin tube with a
camera in it is inserted into your bowel). Thus the doctor can look for
any problems. If these tests are all negative, the doctor may diagnose IBS
based on your symptoms: that is, how often you have had abdominal pain or
discomfort during the past year, when the pain starts and stops in
relation to bowel function, and how your bowel frequency and stool
consistency are altered. Treatment
for ibs (irritable bowel syndrome) and it’s related symptoms may involve
a combination of medicines (laxatives, antidiarrhea medicines,
tranquilizers, or antidepressants), diet changes and stress relief.
